The pasuk says טוב ה' לכל – Hashem always does good to all people at all times. When a person has a prolonged difficulty, it’s very hard for him to feel that it is good. For that reason, the person must continually strengthen himself and say again and again, “I know Hashem is doing this for my best.” Each time he says it with belief, the spiritual elevation he gets from it is unimaginable. In certain instances, a person may think to himself, “I’m trying to accept that what I’m going through is good, but when I look around and I see everyone else having what I want, how could I think it’s good to be in this situation?” The answer is, what we are in this world to accomplish has absolutely nothing to do with what other people are here for.
The key in life is to believe in the goodness of every situation before we see it openly. That will help us live a calmer life and gain worlds upon worlds of spiritual growth for the emunah we display in each and every one of those situations.
