Life is filled with tests in emunah. Every one of them is there to lift a person up and help him fulfill his purpose here. The Chafetz Chaim writes, a person must know that the main reward he will receive in the future depends on the level of emunah that he had in Hashem during the galut when times are dark and a person has every reason to give up, but instead he recognizes whatever happened until this point was from Hashem for his best, and he accepts it with joy and going forward he believes that Hashem can help him and wants to help him and will help him when it's good for him. This is what life is all about. Never give up on Hashem no matter how long it's been.
The hope that a person has in Hashem is a mitzvah. Hope will bear fruit. It's not easy, especially after so many let downs, but the rewards are great. And this service to Hashem is very precious.
