A Message from Sinai: Gathering the People with Faith
Whoever has bitachon in Hashem will be surrounded by Hashem’s kindness. There is a blessing of extra Heavenly help given to a person as a reward for his bitachon in Hashem. A person may not be worthy or destined to receive a certain blessing or benefit, but because the zechut of bitachon is so great, it will come to him anyway. The pasuk says, ברוך הגבר אשר יבטח בה' והיה ה' מבטחו – simply it means fortunate is the one who trusts in Hashem because then Hashem will be his guarantor and give him what he is trusting in Him for.
Bitachon is a great mitzvah, but it requires real work of the mind, then the mind has to penetrate the heart to feel calm. The goal is not just to get what we want, the goal is the mitzvah itself, to feel calm because we know that we are in Hashem’s hands.
