Satisfying Hashem: The Satisfaction of Clinging to Him in Exile

The Gemara says the second Beit HaMikdash was destroyed because of sinat chinam and the Tosefta in Masechet Menachot adds, it stemmed from a love of money. That could mean they hated people who had more money than them. It could also mean they hated people who they felt were taking money from them.
How many monetary disputes are still plaguing us today? There are family members, lo alenu, who haven’t spoken to each other for years over money. How many friendships have been broken over money? If we could internalize that the One who gives out the money loves when we are at peace with each other, it would help us overcome our emotions and make up with those who we are at odds with. We will only gain from making peace and if we do it to help bring back the Beit HaMikdash, we’ll be credited for that as well. Some people have worked on themselves to the point they would never get into a dispute, no matter what people do to them, and they are so admirable and shining examples for us to emulate.
The power of forgiving is awesome. If we could all forgive each other at this time, it will be a tremendous zechut and, b’ezrat Hashem, bring the geula closer.
