We must constantly reinforce our faith and remind ourselves that הכל בידי שמיים - everything is from Hashem. He decides who gets married, when and to whom. He might take money away from somebody so that his child does not end up marrying the wrong person. He might cause somebody to have a physical blemish so that eventually he or she will marry the right person. We might not see the reasons for what appears to be our lack of success, but this is really Hashem hiding behind the veil of nature. There is a master plan and there is a reason for everything. Hashem never abandons us. He does everything for our benefit, as hard as it so often is to understand.
Hashem knows full well the kind of obstacles that need to be overcome for a couple to enjoy a long, happy marriage. And so He wants us to build our homes with merit so they will endure and we will see children and grandchildren. For this reason, He gives us opportunities during the process of shidduchim to build our emunah. He makes it that we see the one we think is the right person slip away and then say, "It's from Hashem." He has us go months without a date so we can then say, "It's from Hashem." When we have emunah and carry on with composure and dignity, we earn the merit to build a בית נאמן בישראל that will endure for generations.
