When the Jewish People were exiled to Bavel, Hashem told the malachim that He would be going down with them. When the Jews heard Hashem was with them in the exile, it gave them the biggest chizuk. Although their situation wasn’t where they wanted to be, just knowing that Hashem was with them made all the difference.
Sometimes people have to experience difficulties and things don’t necessarily change so quickly, but if they could understand that Hashem is with them, that would give them all the strength they need to persevere.
