The Meaning of Sukkot: Recognizing Divine Protection

Some people are blessed with wonderful talents. Others are given great wealth. Because of those gifts, these people receive a tremendous amount of honor in their lives. Wherever they go, they are the center of attention. And the people who are not blessed with those same gifts may feel a little shortchanged, wondering why they never get any recognition. We must never get fooled by the way people perceive things, or according to the way that people honor things. Our measure of value should only depend on the way that Hashem sees things.
This world is short. That world is forever. Hashem is the fairest judge. Everybody has equal opportunity to become great. As long as we put in the effort, we will rise to the top.
