The Gain of the Mitzvah: Going Above the Will

Someone may be going through a rough period, and it comes to a point where there doesn’t seem to be any possible ways left to get out of it. The person has been praying and improving but has not seen the outcome he’s been hoping for. He should repeat to himself again and again, “I know this is from You, Hashem, and You know why it needs to be this way for my best. I will accept it happily and, at the same time, I will pray, the moment it’s good for me to get out of it, that You help me in a way that only You can.” Accept and hope and then again accept and hope. That is our job and the rest is b’yad Hashem.
We must keep our emunah in Hashem both to accept that, until the yeshuah comes, He’s doing what’s best for us; and to hope that in the blink of an eye, He could bring our salvation.
