Treasures for Two Worlds: Satisfaction through Mitzvot
Parashat Shelach: We Only Gain
The mitzvot are our greatest treasures. They benefit us both in this world and the Next. And it brings Hashem so much satisfaction when He sees us performing them.
Mitzvot protect us from doing wrong things.
We don’t always see how mitzvot help us or protect us, but we know they do. If this man had not gotten a loan that day, all that would have meant was it was best for him not to have the money. It would not have been because he taught the boy extra Torah, because we never lose from a mitzvah, we only gain.
