Praying Through Shame: Bridging the Distance to G-d

There are times when people feel ashamed to pray or ashamed to do mitzvot. They feel unwanted because of something they have done and that leads them to become even more distanced. They need to know, Hashem always wants to hear from us. Hashem always wants to be close to us, and He loves our service. He made repentance so easy, and if we feel ashamed, that’s already the first step in the right direction. We can’t imagine the love that Hashem has for us, even after a sin.
Hashem never pushes anyone away. He’ll only give us opportunities to come even closer to Him. We should always feel loved and welcome to perform all of the mitzvot.
