Parashat Tzav: The Eternal Nature of Purim

Parashat Tzav
Chazal tell us, in the future, all of our holidays will become nullified except for Purim. I once saw an explanation of why Purim is unique. The Gemara says in this world, for good news we say the beracha, “ברוך הטוב והמטיב – Hashem is good and He only does good. For bad news we say, “ברוך דיין האמת – Hashem is the true and righteous Judge.” But in the future, for everything we are going to say ברוך הטוב והמטיב, because then we will see there is no such thing as bad. We will also be shown then that what appeared to be bad news now is only because we were lacking knowledge; in actuality, everything is always the best possible outcome.
Sometimes people are not saved and tragedies do occur. One day, we will see the goodness of the tragedies as well. For now, we could continue to trust that Hashem always does good. And for every moment that we believe it, we’ll receive eternal reward.
Shabbat Shalom!
