Parashat Bo: It's Not Just a Technique
In this week's parasha, Bo, Hashem told Moshe that He was performing these great miracles in Egypt in order for us to tell our children "את אשר התעללתי במצרים", which Rabbenu Bachye explains to mean that Hashem is the cause of everything that happens in this world. The point of the miracles in Egypt was just for us to know that Hashem controls every last detail of what goes on every minute of the day, and transmit that message to our children. This is what life is all about, recognizing the Yad Hashem in everything that happens. If we would have that fact clear, as well as the understanding that Hashem only does what's good for us, we will have all the tools necessary to have a successful and happy life.
Hashem is so kind, He taught us about His control over our lives. He taught us about His kindness and then He gave us a Mitzvah to believe in it, which will give us happiness in this world and the Next.
