Parashat Nitzavim: Our Covenant of Responsibility

Parashat Nitzavim
This week's Parashah Nitzavim is read on the final Shabbat of the year
The key to our success is the treaty that we made with Hashem, that every Jew is responsible for his friend. It is not enough for us to ensure that we are serving Hashem properly, we have to make sure that our friends are doing so, as well. The Jewish People are one large body. Just like if one part of the body is malfunctioning, the whole body feels it, so too when our friends are not performing, we all get affected. Helping another Jew get closer to Hashem is not just a Chesed to the person, it's a Chesed to Hashem as well, kavayachol.
If we genuinely care about other people, and Hashem, then when we try to have a positive influence on others, the words will come from the heart with love. And words that come from the heart, will enter the heart. Let us come to Rosh Hashanah with a desire to bring glory to the Name of Hashem, Every person that we can effect is another Neshama saved, and another soldier enlisted in the army of Hashem
Ketiva v'Chatima Tova and Shabbat Shalom!
