Sweetness in Chastisement: The Love of a Father

Positive Feedback
If a person does a good deed and gets positive feedback for what he did, that gives him the strength to make the effort to do that deed again. The greatest type of deed that a person could do is one that nobody knows about. But if no one knows about it, how is he going to get that positive feedback? The answer is with emunah. We know Hashem is watching and appreciating every effort we make. The fact that we know that it's even more valuable to Hashem that we're doing it in private will give us even more strength to continue.
Sometimes Hashem Himself will give a person positive feedback for his good deeds. When that happens, the person gets even more chizuk. A man told me that his son needed extra help in his Gemara learning at school. They had time allotted each day to learn chavruta, and so this man asked Rosh Yeshiva if he could come to the school to learn with his son at that time. The Rosh Yeshiva was very impressed with this man's dedication and happily invited him to come every day during that one hour of chavruta with his son.
Every deed we do is appreciated by Hashem, but when we see His appreciation, it gives us even more strength.
