Seeing Through the Natural: The Challenge of Recognition

You Never Lose
The Chovot HaLevavot writes, the most necessary requirement for a person to be a true eved Hashem is to possess the midah of bitachon. Doing the ratzon Hashem may entail doing things that will make it appear like we are losing out. With the midah of bitachon, a person knows he'll never lose by serving Hashem. Just the opposite, he'll only gain.
A person with bitachon has the courage to do what's right, even if it may seem that he won't earn as much money. He knows at another time and another place Hashem could give him more. He has infinite ways of helping people.
A person never has to compromise on his standards of modesty in the workplace. He never has to conform to what other people want, if it's not what Hashem wants.
No matter what area it's in, a Baal Bitachon knows, he'll never lose if he chooses to do what Hashem wants. This attitude gives a person so much strength and courage, and will enable him to elevate himself so high in avodat Hashem.
