One of the requirements of the ba’al emunah is to be נאמן – faithful to Hashem. That means when things get hard, he doesn’t turn the other way and abandon his commitments to Hashem, but rather understands that Hashem is testing him for his own good and he holds on very tightly and never lets go. People are put through very difficult nisyonot. We always hope that salvation is one moment away, but it doesn’t always happen like that, and people are expected to be very strong, even as their problem persists. In the end, the rewards will come, but in the meantime, we must remain נאמן.
Hashem wants us to be נאמן, no matter how difficult the test is. This is the legacy of the true ba’al emunah.
