We have no idea how far reaching our deeds go. Hashem gives us so many opportunities, some of which require a lot of self-sacrifice to accomplish. But the rule is, the more effort necessary, the greater the deed becomes. There are times when we get to see the ripple effects of our deeds and recognize how Hashem was setting up the circumstances just to help us.
The smallest gesture can have very far-reaching effects.
