Why Are You Getting Down? Lessons from the Rejected Korban

The pasuk says in this week’s parasha Ha’azinu, הצור תמים פעלו – the work of Hashem is perfect – כי כל דרכיו משפט – all of His paths are justice – קל אמונה ואין עול – He is trustworthy and never does anything wrong. Although from our vantage point, things may seem unfair at times, that is only because we don’t see the full picture. Here, the Torah is testifying that everything that happens is as fair as could be. Hashem is perfect in all of His ways and never makes mistakes. Sometimes we go through experiences that make it very difficult for us to believe this. And therefore, our emunah in Hashem’s perfection and righteousness is very precious. Every time we say, “גם זו לטובה,” or “I know Hashem is doing this for my best,” we become so elevated. Sometimes, Hashem gives us a small glimpse into why difficulties happen, but even then we only see a very small piece of a much larger picture. In the future, we are going to see the entire picture and praise and thank Hashem for everything that happened in our lives. The more we can do it now, the greater we can become.
Our job is to trust Hashem with everything that happens and fully believe הצור תמים פעלו and כי כל דרכיו משפט, קל אמונה ואין עול.
