Walk with a Friend: Priority of Chesed on Erev Yom Kippur

Wanting to do a mitzvah the best way possible but being held back because of circumstances beyond our control is better than actually fulfilling the mitzvah in a way that’s lacking. This is tremendous chizuk for people who wish they were in different circumstances for spiritual reasons. We never have to feel bad if something is beyond our control because if we truly want to do any mitzvah and we’re ready to do it the best way possible, then we are credited with the best performance of that mitzvah without the responsibility of trying to do it perfectly.
We should always yearn for more, but never complain about the circumstances that Hashem puts us in because we are always in the best possible place to do our role in this world.
