If a person has a problem or a health issue and doesn’t see any way in which he could be helped, it may lead him to have feelings of despondency. The person could easily become engulfed by the problem and lose his motivation to continue producing in many other areas of his life. The Navi tells us in Micha perek 7, even if a person is in the worst of times, he must never lose his hope – ואני בה' אצפה – I will still have hope in Hashem – אוחילה לאלהי ישעי – I will still yearn for the G-d of my salvation to help me –כי אשב בחושך ה' אור לי– even though I am sitting in the dark, I hope that Hashem will shine His light upon me and take me out of the darkness. And even if salvation has been long delayed in coming, that does not mean that it can’t come in the blink of an eye.
Never say never, everything is possible. The hope we have in Hashem is not just something to get us through our days, it is a very special mitzvah and in its zechut alone, salvation could come.
