Parents should not expect that every single one of their children are going to follow the same mold. It's okay for children to be different from one another. Hashem guides each child on the path he needs to take. Of course a parent has to encourage his child to be the best he can in his avodat Hashem, and a parent can never sit back and watch a child do the wrong things. But when it comes to avodat Hashem, there are many paths a child can take and not necessarily is it going to be the one that the parent expects him to take.
Everyone has a different job. Hashem guides each person in the path that he needs to take and it’s never one size fits all.
