Many Jobs: Understanding the Different Missions of Life
Overcoming Anxiety
The mind is very powerful. When we’re trained to think correctly, we’re able to function properly and happily, but if the wrong thoughts enter our mind, it can cause both mental and physical problems. Anxiety has become very prevalent. A person develops a fear and constantly thinks of that fear, and it results in physical pain, and that pain in turn causes more anxiety and the person’s life is taken over with pain and worry. Most of the time if that person can be convinced that his fears are unwarranted, the pains will go away, and he’ll be able to function normally again. Understanding emunah and how Hashem runs the world is a wondrous tool which can help cure people from this type of anxiety.
Ofcourse, each case of anxiety is different, but in general, the outlook on how to heal is usually the same. Our minds are so powerful. If we can learn to think the way Hashem wants us to think, using Torah and emunah as our guides, then b’ezrat Hashem we’ll be able to function peacefully and happily.
