Spiritual Bitachon: Working Hard When Effort Isn't Possible
Parashat Beresheet: Emunah In The Workplace
Something we must always remember is the words of the Mesilat Yesharim, we are only working because of Hashem’s decree, He does not need our help whatsoever to give us our needs. Therefore, even if we stand to gain a lot of money, if it entails doing something against halacha, we should run the other way. If we’re meant to make that money, Hashem will give it to us the right way and, if we’re not meant to make it, we won’t be able to benefit from it anyway.
Our job is to do our work with emunah and always be thinking, What is the ratzon Hashem that I should be doing? Regarding the parnasa, Hashem gives it to us how and when He knows is best.
