Without Recognition: The Rewards of Zealous Service

All blessings in life come from Hashem. We never have to compromise on our performance of any mitzvah to do something else in the physical world. People have a natural tendency to want to accomplish as much as possible with their time. A person may justify saying the majority of prayers in shul and then running out to work in order to get there early. This way it could be considered having prayed and maximized the day at the office. The much better approach would be to pray the best way, finishing the prayers properly and asking Hashem for siyata d’Shamaya to get his other work done in less time. When a person does a mitzvah the way it is meant to be performed, the merits earned from that mitzvah are endless.
Our prayers are so precious. With a little extra focus and diligence with them, we can gain so much extra siyata d’Shamaya in all other areas of life, not to mention the enormous zechuyot that come from praying a full tefila the way that it is meant to be prayed.
