The Emunah Opportunity: Bringing Down Berachot
The purpose of reading the Haggadah on the night of Pesach is to strengthen our emunah in Hashem.
People who are growing in their belief in Hashem’s hashgacha find themselves acting in a much more dignified manner when met with adversity. They calm themselves down by reminding themselves that Hashem’s in charge. And then, they pray to Him and put their bitachon in Him to help them in their time of need. If they receive help, they attribute it to Hashem and thank Him for it. And if they aren’t helped, they say Hashem is doing this to me for my best and they accept it with love. This is the goal of our speaking about Yetziat Mitzrayim, to bring us to a higher level of emunah.
Emunah is wondrous. The more we speak about it, the more it will become ingrained in us. At the Seder, we have a great opportunity to infuse ourselves and our children with emunah by speaking about the miracles of Hashem.
