Chanukah For The Lost Souls
Why is the power of the nerot Chanukah so great? The sefer Mivaser Tov explained, at the time of the Chanukah miracle, the Jewish People risked their lives to fight the Greeks. With just a small number of people, they took on the mighty Greek army. Why were they fighting? Their lives were not at risk. They were fighting to rid themselves of the religious decrees that the Greeks were imposing upon them. This was a fight for Torah and mitzvot. When Hashem saw how much the Jews yearned for pure Torah, that is when He made the miracle and enabled them to defeat the Greeks.
Hashem could figure out ways to help when we can’t. We need to utilize the extra Siyata d’Shamaya we have on Chanukah and beg Hashem to bring back all of those who have veered from the path.
