Elections With Emunah
The pasuk says in the second perek of Daniel that Hashem is “מְהַעְדֵּ֥ה מַלְכִ֖ין” – He decides who becomes king or who becomes president. Before the elections in 2016, some of the headlines were reading that the chances of Trump winning were approaching zero. Yet, Hashem wanted otherwise, and He swayed the hearts of the people to whom He wanted to be the president. We are thankful to Hashem for sending a shaliach who supported Am Yisrael for the past four years. The winner of the current election, as well, is decided only by Hashem and nothing else.
By the time this is being read, it could be that the election was already decided. If Trump is elected, we will thank Hashem for His open chesed and work very hard to honestly believe that he is only a messenger and we are really in the hands of Hashem and we have nobody to rely on other than Him. If Biden was elected, we’ll strengthen ourselves and honestly realize we are only in the hands of Hashem. Presidents are just puppets – לב מלך ביד ה'. We will pray to Hashem that He sways the heart of the President in the direction that will help us and b’ezrat Hashem, if we have the proper emunah, we will be zocheh to witness the Geulah Shelemah bikarov. Amen!!
