The Gift of Yom Kippur: Personal Cleansing from Above
Every moment of Yom Kippur is a precious gift given to us by Hashem. On this day, Hashem is closer to us more than any other. He personally cleanses us of our avonot and gives us the opportunity to ask Him for all of our needs. If we utilize the day properly by making teshuva and praying with all of our heart and soul, we’ll be helping ourselves so much. This is the time to put all of our effort into – the King is in our midst. He’s available and He’s waiting to hear from us. The prayers themselves have so much meaning. Everything we could possibly want is included in the words we are going to say. If we focus on what they mean, our prayers will be so much better. We say selichot in each of the five tefilot and, in the selichot, there are numerous requests that each person can find himself inside of.
Every tefila has so much meaning. If we focus on them, we’ll get so much more out of the tefilot. B’ezrat Hashem, we should utilize this day and all the tefilot to their fullest and b’ezrat Hashem, we should all have a ketiva v’chatima tova!!!
Chag Sameach!!
