Every moment of life is so precious. With a moment of life, we could do another good deed or learn another word of Torah and earn eternal rewards. Sometimes life is hard. We have needs that are not being fulfilled, and we can't get them off our minds. We don't want them to be the cause of becoming lax in our spiritual pursuits; it's just that it's so hard for us to focus when our minds are preoccupied with other matters. But fortunate for us, Hashem is so kind. He created a system whereby we can earn eternal reward and at the same time have the side benefit of having our needs taken care of. Many of the Mitzvot have a bonus inside of them that provide dividends for us here as well. And therefore, when we're lacking, it shouldn't be a cause for us to veer away from the Mitzvot, it should motivate us to cling to them even more.
Hashem is always sending us opportunities. It is up to us to rise to the challenges and grab the opportunities when they come.
