Benefit for Eternity: Goodness through Torah Observance

Parashat Behar & Bechukotai
Hashem wants only good for us, like it says in the Torah "לטוב לנו כל הימים”-to benefit us for eternity. This good stems from us observing the Torah and Mitzvot. By giving harsh punishments, Hashem is showing us how important observing the Torah really is.
Hashem is also “ארך אפיים”-He has so much patience. If a Jew sins, He gives him opportunities to erase his sin, just by making Teshuva. If he delays, and continues to sin, Hashem yearns for him to repent. He gives people years and years to make Teshuva, before He brings upon them a punishment. Punishing is the last thing He wants to do. Even if a punishment is given, it is out of love to atone and be a כפרה, so that person can enjoy עולם הבא-the world to come, for eternity.
We are so precious to Hashem. He loves us with an infinite love. The Torah and Mitzvot are our greatest gifts which enable us to enjoy both this world and the next.
Shabbat Shalom!
