The Hug of a Grandparent: Negative Effects and Emunah

One of the negative effects of the coronavirus is that grandparents are not being allowed to hug their children and grandchildren. Grandparents who have been anxiously awaiting the birth of new grandchildren are being denied the opportunity to see those precious newborns. They are missing out on the joy of having a tiny little hand wrap around their finger or smelling that delicious new-baby smell. But, b’ezrat Hashem, soon they will be able to experience that joy again.
If we only knew how concerned Hashem is for our well-being, how much He cares for us to be happy for all eternity, how much pain He is in when we are in pain, and that He is only doing things to benefit us! Let us improve our ways, let us joyfully accept the way He deals with us and, b’ezrat Hashem, we will merit to become reunited with Him and we will never have to be apart again.
