Sometimes people feel like they want to take the next step in religion but they are not sure of themselves. They ask Hashem to please send them a sign to show them that they are choosing the right direction. If they don’t get that sign, they might become disheartened. They might feel that Hashem doesn’t want them to take that step. They have to know, Hashem already told us in the Torah exactly what He wants from us. Of course He wants us to take the next step. And when we do it without the sign, it becomes even greater. Many times only after we make the commitment and grow in religion the way we are supposed to, then Hashem gives us the chizuk we were hoping for.
We don’t always get the approval we’re seeking from Hashem, but we should know He’s always watching and proud of every growth that we have in religion. Let us take the steps to get closer to Him and, b’ezrat Hashem, we’ll reach the potential that He gave us.
