Overcoming Tests: The Legacy of Avraham
Parashat Lech Lecha: Overcoming Your Tests
In this week’s parasha, Lech Lecha, we learn about the tests of Avraham Avinu. The Mishna says “עשרה נסיונות נתנסה אברהם – Avraham was tested with ten tests – ועמד בכולם – and he passed all of them." Chazal tell us this is where the greatness of Avraham came from – he was able to stand up to every test Hashem sent him. That is why he became who he was.
Everyone is tested constantly on their own level. If we can overcome each test that is sent, we will become the great people we’re meant to be.
