Standing Before the King: Glory on the New Year

GLORY TO THE KING!!
The pasuk says in this week’s parasha, “אתם נצבים היום כולכם – you are all standing here today.” Chazal tell us the word “היום-today” is also a reference to the day of Rosh Hashanah. Rashi says the Jewish People’s faces had turned pale after hearing about the ill effects of their sins, and Moshe came to give them chizuk, telling them, You’re still standing here. You could make teshuva. You could change. You can be better.
Rosh Hashanah is a glorious time, but we have to do our part. It’s not about making just one small kabbalah and moving on with life as usual. It’s a time to think big.
Before we ask for blessings for the new year, we must look back and thank Hashem for everything He gave us this past year. And if there are things that a person wanted that he didn’t get or the person feels, in general, like he’s lacking, if he could thank Hashem for the year he was given, the zechut is enormous.
May we be zocheh to have a year that brings glory to the Melech and may we be zocheh to a year of berachot, refuot and yeshuot and see the coming of the Mashiach. AMEN!!!
Shabbat Shalom!! Shana Tov!!
