Chinuch Results: Letting Go of Parental Agitation
Chinuch: The Results Are Beyond Us
Parents have certain expectations of how they want their children to turn out. When their expectations are not met, they tend to become very agitated over it. Chinuch yeladim is a lifelong work, and we try our hardest, but our children don’t always respond the way we hoped. But if we believe that Hashem is also involved in raising our children, and He is leading each one of them in the path they need to take to bring the most glory to Him, it will help us cope and come to terms with the fact that there is a bigger plan in the making.
We need to teach our children to thank Hashem for everything they have. This will be the full chinuch in emunah. And emunah will give our children so much strength in life. It will give them courage. It will give them the fortitude to withstand the challenges of life, and it will give them the greatest gift of all – being able to serve Hashem the way they’re supposed to.
