Satisfaction with the Small: Appreciating Hashem’s Gifts

No Matter How Small
If somebody has a house to live in, a car, clothing, money, it is Hashem who has given him all these possessions. Someone who appreciates and is satisfied with the gifts Hashem gives him will use his feelings of gratitude to serve Hashem even better. The goal of every individual is to become more spiritual, to take pride in our spiritual accomplishments, to pray to Hashem for help to grow in Torah. But, until we reach that goal of becoming totally spiritual, we will naturally get enjoyment from physical acquisitions. Hashem is the One who gives it to us and He is the One that we should come to ask for it. And, like all other prayers, we’ll get a mitzva just for coming to Hashem and asking Him to fulfill our needs.
Hashem helps us in every area of life, no matter how small it is. We need to recognize it and ask Him for help with all of our needs.
Good prayer for parents to say today for their children on erev rosh chodesh Sivan
