Hashem is called the שומר ישראל- the Guardian of Israel. In describing Hashem’s protection, the pasuk says “ה' שומריך” – in singular, to allude that Hashem guards each person individually. Everybody has their own hashgacha pratit. So many times Hashem saves people from dangers that they don’t know even existed. Other times, Hashem shows those people how He was watching and protecting them. It is incumbent upon us to thank Him all of the time for being our guardian.
Hashem is always guarding us. In these cases, he showed the people how He was protecting them, but we must realize, even when we don’t see it, He’s always watching over us.
