Adar: Increasing Joy Against All Odds

How to Become Happy
During these days of Adar, we are supposed to be increasing our happiness, but how could a person be happy if he's out of a job? How could a person be happy if he's feeling pain? How could a person be happy if he doesn't have what he wants? One way is Emunah - to increase our belief that everything we're going through is from Hashem, who loves us so much and only does what's best. Hashem has given us a tremendous power. Our thoughts can influence the way we feel.
Another way is to think about, and thank Hashem for, everything that we have. If a person tells himself that he has so much good, he'll feel better about his life. We are in charge of our own happiness. There is nobody who doesn't have myriads of blessings from Hashem. All we need to do is appreciate them more.
The greatest Segula is when a person humbles himself to Hashem and recognizes that He is kind and He's constantly bestowing blessing upon him. Thanking Hashem is the doorway to salvation. Thanking Hashem is the way to increase happiness.
We have the ability to be happy. Let us use the tools that Hashem has given us, recognize His hand in our lives, tell ourselves that He only does good, and thank Hashem for all that He has given us!
