The Bote'ach B'Hashem's Mindset With People

The Chovot HaLevavot in the Sha'ar HaBitachon (Ch. 4) teaches us the mindset of the Bote'ach B'Hashem when dealing with other people. It is important to note, he is not just giving us good advice; he is giving us the basic requirement that we need to fulfill to be considered people who serve Hashem the right way.
Not only should we not feel bad when our request is denied by people, but we should actually thank Hashem for making the best decision for us by denying that request. We should thank the individual who we asked the favor from for meeting with us, for taking time out of his schedule, and for even considering the request. We should not have one bit of animosity towards him. He was forced to say no; it's not his fault. This is the way Hashem requires us to deal with people. It will help us fulfill so many of the Mitzvot in the Torah between man and man. It will protect us from bearing a grudge, from taking revenge and from harboring hatred.
If we can do our basic job of Avodat Hashem and view people as the messengers that they really are, all of that stress will dissipate. We'll have happy, healthy relationships with all people and, most importantly, we'll be serving Hashem the way He wants us to.
