The Aseret Yameh Teshuva is such a special time. The Netivot Shalom writes, because Hashem gave us the awesome gift of Yom Kippur, a day which we can become purified from all of our sins, and in order to be totally cleansed we need to make Teshuva, Hashem, in His infinite kindness, gave us the Aseret Yameh Teshuva before Yom Kippur to make it easier for us to do that Teshuva and gain the full effects of the day of Yom Kippur. But, unfortunately, not everybody takes advantage of this opportunity.
Making Teshuva only helps us. Hashem only does what's good for us.
If we could think about Hashem's love a little more and how much He does help us, we'll be running to make Teshuva and get closer to Him and we'll be willing to do whatever Hashem wants us to do.
