The Main Reward: How Deeds Benefit Us Decades Later

We say in the Amida וכל החיים יודוך סלה – with every bit of life we have, we should be using it to thank Hashem. And right after that, we call Hashem ישועתינו ועזרתינו – our Savior and our Helper. The B’nei Yissachar explains, because thanking Hashem is so powerful, it enables Hashem, kavayachol, to bring about our salvations as a result. The best response we can have to any situation in life is to thank Hashem for it. If He gives us revealed good, we should be crying tears of thank you, and if He gives us something which doesn’t seem to be good, we should see beyond what meets the eye and recognize that that is also Hashem’s goodness and thank Him for it as well.
Thanking Hashem is always the best reaction and, as we allude to in the Amida, it also brings the yeshua closer.
