Sleepless Nights for Mitzvot: The Value of Preparation

The Tanach is filled with stories of people who have prayed and changed their lives for the better as a result. Tefila is a very powerful tool that should be utilized at all times. Every tefila that is said properly accomplishes something. Certain things we want may require dozens or even hundreds of tefilot, but for sure, each time we pray with kavana and emotion, that tefila will be used to benefit us. Tefila should be used for every single need we have, even the smallest things. Part of the reason Hashem wants us to pray is so that we realize every single thing we have comes from Him. If we realize that even the smallest things that are seemingly a given also come from Him, it is even a greater praise. The Midrash teaches us we are supposed to thank and praise Hashem for every single breath we take. Which means, even something so natural as a breath of air, we are supposed to realize is coming from Hashem.
We need Hashem for everything and when we ask, we get more.
