Rav Chaim Zt"L: Lessons In Siyata D'shamaya
When people have expressed amazement on how Rav Eliashiv was able to learn with such diligence even when he was old, weak and frail, Rav Chaim would tell them, if someone forms the habit of learning Torah with exceptional diligence for all of his life, Hashem will help him over and above the laws of nature to continue doing it. We have witnessed with our own eyes the fulfillment of those words in Rav Chaim himself, who was able to learn with the same diligence down to his final day at the age of 94. In general, when a person pushes himself to his limit to observe halachot, Hashem gives him siyata d’Shamaya to always be able to fulfill them.
Rav Chaim was midakdek in every halacha and Hashem gave him extraordinary siyata d’Shamaya in fulfilling all of the halachot and in helping others do it as well.
