Disturbances to Joy: Managing Fear of the Future

Parashat Beshalach: Our Job
Chazal compare a person’s parnasa to Kriyat Yam Suf, and one of the explanations is that just like when the Jews were trapped at the Yam Suf there were many opinions on what they should do to be saved, and in the end, their yeshua came in a way they could have never have imagined. So too, with a person’s parnasa. People think of many ways they are going to earn it, and then Hashem sends it in a way they never expected. When the Jews were in the desert, not knowing what they were going to eat, there must have been many opinions on what they should do to survive, but nobody expected that Hashem was going to send them mann from Shamayim. Hashem has an unlimited amount of ways to provide for us, and therefore, we must feel that way all of the time, and never compromise on our standards or the halacha to earn parnasa.
Hashem has infinite ways of helping us. Our job is to always choose to adhere to Torah and mitzvot.
Shabbat Shalom!
