Parashat Re’Eh: Needy For Respect
In today’s day and age, we have the ability to save people’s lives by providing them with the encouragement and chizuk that they so desperately need. If someone does a good job or gives a nice speech or prays an uplifting tefila, we should go over to those people and compliment them and tell them how much we enjoyed what they did. Although it may seem that the person doesn’t need that chizuk, most probably he does and we have to give people what they need.
Some people need more honor than others. We can fulfill this wondrous mitzvah of tzedaka by giving people the respect that they need.
