Parental Anxiety: Trusting Hashem When Children Go Away

Parashiot Tazria-Metzora: Guard Your Tongue
Hashem has so much to give us, and He told us how to attain it: Follow the Mitzvot. The Pasuk asks in Tehillim: “?מי האיש החפץ חיים אוהב ימים לראות טוב”-Who wants eternal life in Olam Habah and to see good in this world, as well? The Pasuk answers: “נצור לשונך מרע”-Someone who is ready to guard his tongue from speaking evil. The Vilna Gaon quotes the Midrash which says: For every moment a person stops himself from speaking Lashon Hara, he will merit a reward in the next world that even angels cannot fathom. So a person should think before he speaks, “Every moment I hold myself back, I am earning eternal reward.”
