The Benefit of Pain: Finding Divine Kindness in Discomfort
A Very Powerful Lesson
If a person is inconvenienced or experiences any sort of pain, one of the benefits he gets from those circumstances is that Hashem, in His infinite kindness, uses them to cleanse him from his averot. We call this kapara, where Hashem allows a person to gain atonement in this world, rather than having to experience worse in the Next.
We don’t only get kapara when we lose money, or when we get bruised, we also get kapara for any difficulty involved in our avodat Hashem.
