The Tax of Effort: Recognizing the Hands of Hashem
We are told to put in a normal effort to attain the things that we want. It’s important to realize that results are completely in the hands of Hashem. If we made our best efforts, we should feel at ease, knowing that Hashem is in control. Sometimes it will appear that our efforts were unsuccessful. It is then that we need to strengthen ourselves and say Hashem knows what He’s doing and always chooses best.
Our hishtadlut is only necessary because Hashem wants us to make it, but what actually happens afterward is only Hashem. Therefore, we should feel at ease knowing that He is always in control!
