Divine Favor: Utilizing the Gates of Elul

The Most Effective Hishtadlut
These days of Elul are called Yimeh Ratzon – days of Divine favor. The Bneh Yissachar writes, during this time the gates of Shamayim are wide open to accept all of our tefillot. A person could accomplish with his prayers now in a short amount of time what would normally take much longer during the rest of the year. Prayer is always beneficial and we should never underestimate its power. Sometimes a person wants something so badly and does everything in his power to obtain it, unsuccessfully. But he forgets the most important and effective hishtadlut he could possibly make – tefila.
Prayer is wondrous. We should take advantage of it all year long and especially now during the days of Elul.
