Feeling Secure: Remembering the Defeat of Balak
Feel Secure
One of the עשר זכירות-the ten things we are supposed to remember every single day is “מה שיעצו בלק ובלעם- What Balak and Bilaam tried to do to our ancestors and how Hashem saved them from their plot.” The source of this obligation is written in the prophet Micha, and the words he uses are, “זכור נא – Please remember.” It seems that there is something very special about this episode, to the point where the Micha is pleading with us to remember it.
It is true, we don’t always see the results we are looking for, but if we know our loving Father is looking after us and is always choosing what is best for us, we’ll be able to feel secure all of the time.
